Raising Chicks has become very addictive. We started out with four chicks. Stopped at a feed store in California and picked up two bantams. Yesterday, we were coming home again from CA and stopped at same feed store and they had some Polands. Couldn't resist the temptation and got two more Polands. Grand total of eight. We're only suppose to have four (living in the city) but our next door neighbor is there only six months of the year and Hubby said if anything is said we'll tell a "white one" and say we're looking after them for our neighbor. It's okay with them. They are so precious and cute.

Yeah, I started with 8 layers two springs ago. After owing these girls for a year (and adding two more) by the next spring I had decided that chickens were pretty nifty creatures and that I either had to stop eating chicken or raise them myself, so that I'd know they had had a happy, healthy life and a compassionate and low stress end. So I added 35 Freedom Rangers.

This spring more baby chicks and 4 turkeys.

We started with 4, three weeks later got 10 more, then 6 more...then 3 more... some of them are being given away here soon but majority of them are our chick-its (what my son says)
....they seem to be multiplying without breeding... so strange! Welcome to chickens!
