So, a couple of months ago, I noticed one of my hens was loosing feathers and had a big cut and some other things on her chest. I took her out of the flock and put her in a dog crate by herself away from the others. She has healed up great, but when I tried to add her back into the flock today, the others didn't like it. I understand there needs to be a pecking order and all, but should I take a smaller crate and put it in the pen with the new(ish) hen? I have already lost one hen from pecking, and I don't want to loose another! This hen is smaller than the rest of the hens (3), but she doesn't seem to afraid to help herself, until the other hens come around, of course. So, basically, what I am asking is, how can I add a chicken who has already been in the flock back into the it? Should I just let them be? Please help me before it is too late!

I add them back into the flock at night. I just put them on the roost in the dark and the next day the others don't seem to bother them much. They will figure it out.
