Adding a new duck to 4 hens?

Unfortunately, our 5 day old Drake didn’t make it. I’m contemplating getting another drake to add to our 5 day old hens. How does one add a new drake into a little established crew? Do I even need to have a drake? My plan for the drake was the watch the ladies backs while they’re on the pond. Help!

No you really don't need a Drake. Females can look after themselves plus if a Drake isn't needed it's best without one.

I guess I need to talk to my husband hahah. I just didn’t know if it was easy to just bring two more in or it was going to be a pain. When we introduced new chickens to our old flock, they beat the crap out of each other and that was a deal.

How old are yours? You can set up a look no touch for a few days. Ducklings love other Ducklings.

I introduced 2 week old ducklings to newly hatched and it took a few days for the older to accept the younger I just split the brooder.

Just make a temporary space in your brooder for your new ones they will be best buds in no time.
