Adding a new rooster

I already have a few Roos and my friend had a rooster and a few hens but she's moving so I was offered the rooster for free because she had sold the hens but couldn't sell the rooster so anyways how should I add this new rooster I don't want any fights to go on in my little crew . My roosters get along well and are very docile but that was because they were raised together and I was wondering I could get them to get along with the newcomer. Any ideas?

My suggestion would be to put them in a bachelor pen. I don't know how many hens you have, but too many roosters will cause them to be overbred and stressed, likely affecting their egg production. Also, when roosters are with the hens they are much more likely to fight. Even in a bachelor pen, your roosters will have squabbles to establish their pecking order. That's just the way it is. If you want fertile eggs, leave one rooster with the hens and lock the other two up (Unless, of course, you have enough hens to go around. Then - after the fighting is done they will likely develop their own sub-flocks if you want to call it that. At least this has been my experience.)

Having them in a pen is fine.There never really is a way,unless hes there for months.Each should have hens.

I strongly doubt he wont get beat up.He will probably be teamed up on,even killed.

Ive delt with roosters.They met eachother and begin fighting,they set out a pecking order,the bigger,more stronger one came out dominant male,once dominant males established,normally the spurring is done with,mostly any fighting.

Everytime I've mixed strange, full grown roosters it was more headache than I want to deal with so I don't do it. They may fight for 3 minutes or they may fight for 3 days but it's usually a bloody mess.
