If no one has mentioned the noise, guinea fowl like to alert over anything new or unusual. Definitely look up their sounds and see if that would encourage or discourage visitors to the agroforestry area. I personally would go with ducks as I rarely hear people complaining about their noises to the same extent.

Chickens are quite effective at tick removal and survival if you get a tough breed. I've never heard of feral Guinea fowl on this continent but there have been many many feral chickens
