The batch of chicks I am raising right now includes a cockerel I may keep, the rest are for meat. The next batch of chicks (in April) will be a new flock of pullets for laying. I want them to have a rooster. Can I give them the rooster from this batch? He will be 5-6 months old before they move to their coop. Or is it better to get a rooster to raise with them?
