Adding a rooster

Hi all,

I have 10 hens and two roosters, my friend has ten hens, no rooster and wants one. I'd like to give her one of mine!

My birds are about 9 wks old and are a mix of Rocks and Welsummers. The rooster that I want to give her is a BR.

Her flock is a mix of Auracana, Welsummers and Rocks and they are about 4 wks. When is a good time for her to add my rooster to her flock and how should we go about it?

I would wait until the hens are around 2 months old or so. In the meantime, is there a seperate pen she can put the roo in and keep it next to the hens so they can get used to each other for a month?
