Adding A Window to Coop...QUESTIONS!!

Looks like you'll have to get creative to mount this window on that plastic-walled shed. That window has nailing strips which I don't know if you'll be able to use. What you really want is a 2x4 stud frame for this window, but you won't have that. I'm curious how this will turn out, I'll be interested to look at all the photos of this window installation. (hint, hint)

HUH?? What nailing strips?? My window came with the j-lip and a bag of screws to mount it with into the opening...not understanding you. These windows are made for playhouses and sheds.

The vinyl strip around the edge with holes in it looks to me like a nailing fin. For securing the window against a wood framed opening. Your window may have been made for sheds but that shed doesn't look like it was made for window installations, but maybe it was. All I can see is a plastic wall and was curious how you would make the installation.

Ditto, wondering the same...iwiw60, can you post pics of your installation?

Both you guys are confusing me...the window will be screw-gunned in and I will be putting false trimming around it, also screwed in. The window only weighs 5 lbs.

We may be confused as to what you are screwing it to, I'm not familiar with those type of walls...why it's often good to have a pic, worth a thousand words.

I'm curious just because. I know pictures aren't really working right now, but when they do will you post? I've never heard of windows made for playhouses and sheds, this is interesting.
