Hi everyone I have a question . A few weeks back I posted about a rooster I found, since then I've been given 2 hens (polish hens) . My coop has 3 nesting boxes . I was talking to a farmer today who mentioned I should add a few more hens to the flock because as the rooster grows his sexual needs will also. That it would be easier on the hens if there were a few more choices for the rooster.
My question is should I increase the flock and if so how many for my environment I don't want to over crowd the chickens
Also my hens seem laid back any suggestions on breeds, and how is the best way to introduce new hens to the flock?
One last question, this chicken coop seems small to me but I'm told to keep food and water inside and outside. I have food in one corner and water in the other corner both are next to the exit
Appreciate any ideas or advise have a lot to learn
