Adding chicks to existing pair of hens

Hi! I currently have a pair of hens and want to add to my pair...not sure I can call it a flock..LOL

My pair are 2 year old bantams cochin/silkie cross and I want to add the bantam cochin chicks that just hatched at some point. So at what age is it best to introduce them? Also do it matter if I have an odd/even number for my group total? I was thinking of keeping 2 or three of the new chicks...which would give me 4 or 5 total. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Odd or even does not matter. Wait until the babies are the same size as the adults. Let them meet through a fence first and then only supervised meetings for about a week.
