For those who add DE & Flaxseed to there feed...how much do you mix with a 50lb. bag of feed?? I would like to try this but am not sure how much to add to there bag of feed or do you not mix it??

Thanks for any help!

i don't know if this will help,i add 1 table spoon to a pound of layer feed.

Are you saying 1 tablespoon of DE or Flaxseed or both?

Thanks

Recommended inclusion rates, by weight:

DE: 2-5%

Flax seed: No more than 10%

I put a Tablespoon of flax seed into each bucket of feed. 3 1/2 pounds of feed per bucket, 1 Tablespoon of flax. You get to do the math yourself.

I used to add DE to my feed, and the bag said I believe 1 or 2% maximum of the feed.

I add flax now- my BYC page has the details if you are interested.

Too much flaxseed will make the eggs taste fishy.

just a little piece of advice...if we're trying to have a logical, academic discussion of feed ingredients and their respective inclusion rates, these things are always discussed in terms of weight, not cups and spoons and buckets.

Sorry if I was unclear as I was only stating the instructions that are on the packaging . I will find out how much 3C of DE weighs

3C of DE per 50 lbs. is only going to work out to about 1.25% and 2C of flax seed is probably around 2%. Both ingredients useless at these rates.
