2 days ago I got two new chickens. They are younger than my 3 12 week old hens and they seem to be spending a lot of time in the nesting boxes. They only eat when I move them to the food and they haven't been drinking water unless I remove them from the coop and give them water separately.
Any ideas on how I can get them to be comfortable around the older chickens?

I got 2 new ones last week. Put food and water next to them like in the coop or the nesting boxes separate hang half a head of lettuce out of their reach so when the other ones are jumping for it your other chickens can get out and explore the coop and eat and drink... let them have free time sepaertly from the younger ones and eventually together but put them in your front yard or somewhere they have not been before to distract them and when they go to sleep sneak the new ones in.

I will try the lettuce! and thank you!!
