I'm using a large plastic bin as a brooder and currently have four 2 1/2 week old pullets in there. Their doing fine, but I am planning on getting a couple more chicks this week when the new shipment comes in at the local feed store. Is it ok to mix ages in the brooder? I could put the older chicks in the coop with a heat lamp if needed. Thoughts?

Sometimes it is ok and sometimes it isn't. If the older girls bully the little babies it won't work. You can try it and see, but you need a plan B. Also this is the largest age gap I would do with new little chicks.
