I hatched some turkey eggs in bator. can i put the poults back with the hens that laid the eggs and will they take care of them? one is a poult that is named annie or andy. it was laided on my anniversary. i dont want to loose any poults. is it best to just keep them separate from the hens and tom till they are about the same size? the poults are only 1 week old. i really don't want to have to build another area for the poults.

Since they did not hatch them they will not take care of them. I like to wait until they are about 12 weeks old before they first see each other through a fence or cage. After the intoduction week, then I let them loose together.

Best way to get a hen to "adopt" incubated batch is to let her sit on a few eggs. Within 12 hours of her eggs hatching, (*night time being the best*) you can slip the incubated chicks in. Not 100% adoption rate, but let's say 90%?
