Adding small breeds to lg. breed flock

Hello, I currently only have a small flock of jersey giants (3 hens and 1 roo). I was thinking of adding some ameraucanas or EE's. My first thought is this would probably not be a good idea because my jg roo would be too heavy and would possibly hurt the hens half his size. Has anybody had a combo. like this. I don't want to deal with separating them. I sure would like to have them colored eggs though! Thanks

EEs aren't that small. It will work fine. He needs more hens anyway.

awesome! yes I know, something wiped me out this summer in one afternoon lost over half my flock in broad daylight! Thanks for the help
