We just took the plunge and got chicks and keets. (We've been thinking about this for some time.) We found a family that builds quality coops/houses that we liked so bought one. But we need to snake-prood it as we know we have a black snake that lives under our house and is frequently seen around the yard and detached garage.
We need suggestions for how to attach some fine hardware cloth to the corners where the metal roof meets the sides.

You should be able to find corrugated metal roofing closure strips, remove the screws securing the roofing to the edges of the roof framing, slip in the closure strip and screw the roof back down. You'd have to find the right profile. You can ask the builder where they purchased the roofing and then contact the manufacturer or seller. Sometimes, the closure strips are ventilated but it isn't very much.
You need to have proper ventilation and the strips will close off a lot of ventilation so you will need to add it back elsewhere. Can you post some pictures of the rest of the coop?

I had these same gaps on the ends of my coop roof and what I did in order to keep any critters out but to keep it open for ventilation is simply run some 2in wood screws at an angle from the inside of the coop to the outside up near the openings. I went stopped the screws when the touched the roofing material and did about 3 screws side by side spaced about 1/2in to an inch apart. Thus creating a wall of screws within the gap that were spaced apart enough for airflow but close enough to keep things out.
