Hopefully the cub is just there for the entertainment value of "chicken TV". Maybe mom is using your flock as a babysitter while she forages.

Hopefully this was a curiosity visit and his/her territory is FAR AWAY! Do you have feeders outside that might be drawing them in? Or neighbors who might be leaving trash out? I would certainly try to remove and temptations that would entice him to come back or hang around.

I'm pretty sure my backyard convienence store of chickens is enough to entice any wild critter. I called DNR so they can come document the sighting and track it since I live close to a highway. He/she hung out for 5 minutes and then scampered off back in to the woods.
