Hi there,

Thus week I added new bird to my flock. I added 2 black stars that are about 6-8weeks. I have three Rhode Island res girls that are 1 year or so. The older ladies are super mad and making so much noise that I am afraid the nieghbors will complain.

Today I moved the little new ones tothe lower part of the coop in hopes to quiet the other girls. They small ones have a protected area to hide if needed.

So far I have not seen any picking on the little girls. They are being super loud though......PLEASE HELP

A week of noise, long time. You could try distractions something to peck at or scratch through. How much room do they have? It will take more time, but adding more room could help. That is if you don't already leave them out.

What is 'lots of room' in feet by feet?

Even if you do have plenty of room, fact is, hens can make a lot of noise.
Sometimes I can't believe how loud they are.....
.....and just as annoying as those shitzu dogs in the apartment house I used to live in long ago.

My Nieghbors don't seem to care. Thank god!! I'd say they have a least 300 feet inside and more outside.
