Adding to the Flock

Well, our only silkie ended up being a roo and got re-homed. So my kids still want a silike. My 11 hens are 5 months old now.

There is a chicken show in my area in October, so if we go pick out a couple of silkie pullets, will we need to quarantine them? We only have one coop and run, so I'm not sure how we would do that.

Thanks, Dawg. After reading that link and the sticky about quarantining, I'm rethinking the situation. Maybe we'll wait until spring to add the silkies and order them from a hatchery.

The only problem is then we may just end up with roos again.
