PRELIMINARY REPORT:

No gross diagnosis, no significant lesions

7/3/2019: The cause of this bird's demise is not apparent the postmortem examination. I collected liver and lung swabs for bacterial cultures and will examine the tissues microscopically to determine significant lesions. Influenza surveillance is also pending.

Examined is the carcass of a female chicken in very good body condition and mild autolysis. The head is decapitated do euthanasia method. The lungs are red tinged. A well-formed shelled egg is diagonally to horizontally located in the shell gland.

All tissues are unremarkable on postmortem examination.

Yeah they do a body autopsy. They would have noticed anything abnormal with anything they could see with their eyes. And these folks see a lot of chicken parts.
Unbelievable.
The plot thickens.
Did they say anything more about what other tests they sent out? I don’t know if there is a certain range they do, or tests just based on what they observe with the body.
