I have an AS degree in accounting, I wonder will they hire me as a district manager? lol. BTW I have never ran away from the military or been fired from a job....

No only English, have no money for lessons of any type and parents wouldn't let me take any foreign language or music classes in high school and it wasn't offered at my community college. My parents had strange ideas on what they thought I should take in middle and high school and they didn't like the fact I never went to the college of THEIR choice for their degree choice they wanted me to get. Quite frankly after dealing with them I wonder if I wasn't adopted, just because of the differences of how I and my siblings where raised....

Few if any companies that deal with the public here in Indiana have a requirement on Spanish speaking. Plus in the town I live in if they tried to make a foreign language requirement they would have a list at least 10 feet long, because it's not one or the other like in Texas, we have a large list of international students here.

Gee old guy, you are taking the fun out of it, 'thinking better of it' that is. But I know what you mean, I had a lot of thoughts myself, and decided keeping them to myself would be wiser, but not as entertaining.

I have thought about this post many times though out the day in the past week... I just can't figure out what we should be doing anymore. Are we now so over educated that a degree means nothing, Or is our education so watered down now that it means nothing, or are there just too many people and not enough jobs? Did we get so good at whatever it is that we do -that now our skill sets are text messaging and T.V. watching because people have been replaced by machines?

Do I mortgage the house and send that very brainy third egg off to college, or would he be better off putting that money into pharmaceutical stocks?
I want a crystal ball that has all the answers. The old rules just do not apply anymore.

However, What I do know is that I have enjoyed having my education even if it never made me a fortune. I went to college for an education, not a trade or a job.
So, he still goes - because life is the journey, not the destination.
