So, I am attempting to start a group on this part of the Forum for all those here who have ADHD.

I figured that since each ADHD brain is different, I figured we that have ADHD could share techniques that help us, and help each other with our ADHD.

HOWEVER, Since each brain is different, what works for one person may not work for another. Keep this in mind.

So, let me introduce myself, My name is Jared, and I have ADHD. Currently, the best thing that helps me is listening to classical music. I am still experimenting with this, though.

I admit, I do struggle with my ADHD. It’s a hassle.

Keep in mind, I am not posting this to get help for myself. I am starting this to see if anyone with ADHD needs support from others with ADHD.

This is a real problem in the world. We need to help each other.

I invite anyone who has ADHD, or anyone who wants to learn more about ADHD, or anyone who needs help with ADHD to post.

I cant stop apologizing for my outburst. I am sorry.

I just got back from a Neurotherapy brain map. The results are actually surprising.

I cant post pictures due to confidentiality, so here is the rundown.

According to the brain map, I:

Am not sleeping well.

Naturally dont enjoy doing something while I am doing it, even if its a fun activity.

More things I cannot post, Its VERY hard to explain

And to top it all off, my High Beta brain waves are 4 standard deviations ABOVE the normal brain.

In a nutshell, I have ADHD and depression.

I will support all here who have ADHD, but I would like support in return.

Again, Sorry for my outburst.

Hi. I like the idea of your thread. I don't have ADHD, but someone in the family does. I won't contribute much to this thread, but if it is alright with you I would like to watch this thread.

That's fine. You're more than welcome to just watch and read the thread. Who knows? You may get some ideas to help your family member.

Today, I am going to see if a friend of mine can help me with an experiment. He is a chess player, and as you all might know, chess takes a LOT of focus. To top it all off, its hard for me to focus with ADHD.

Im going to see if we can play some games with no change in helping me focus. Then, I am going to play games with him, but this time I'll have something in the background, like music, to help me focus.

This is the experiment. I read somewhere and was told that having something in the background helps a person with ADHD to focus. I am trying it out.

Jared, I don’t have ADHD or depression myself but a loved one does. All I can say is that it is very hard to have someone you love struggle with these issues and to feel like you can’t help them. I am really glad that you are getting some help and that you are reaching our to help others! :hugs

I am seeing posts like this a lot. People have a loved one or someone else who has ADHD.

Heres what My parents do. I am 23, and still with my parents because the ADHD is halting my progress in life. Heres what they do to help.

Keep in mind EVERY ADHD brain is different, so what works for one may not work for others.

First, Learn about what you are dealing with, ADHD. There are LOTS of YouTube channels about this. Once you understand the ADHD mind, You know how to help people with it.

Second, Listen to them and understand what they are feeling.

Third, comfort them to the best of your ability and what works for them.
