I’m trying to administer calcium gluconate to my egg bound duck. I’ve never done this before, and I’m wondering if anyone has some tips/ suggestions on how to give it to her?

Hi, I have the Durvet Calcium Gluconate 23% that I recently purchased online and it states that it has to be administered intravenously or intraperitoneally. Is it possible to administer it as an oral treatment? Or should I look for a different product that can be administered orally??
I have an egg bound duck and am trying my best to help her. Any suggestions and advice on whether I can use this calcium Gluconate or if I need a different product are appreciated.

It can be given orally.

Draw 1ml into a syringe, stick the syringe down the right side of "her" mouth, and press the plunger.

Alternatively, you can administer subcutaneously, tenting the skin near the interscapular region, and insert a 20 gauge needle at a 45-degree angle halfway between the tent and press the plunger. Intravenous administration can be hard for someone inexperienced with delivering medications due to the fragility of avian veins, hematomas formation is likley.

I've given penicillin intravenously before, it was a learning experience and I had an excellent walk through on how to do it, so I have supplies if necessary to do an injection. But if oral is ever an option I'd rather go that route just so I don't have the chance of making a mistake or causing any additional stress.
