Administering charcoal to wild duck

There's another thread where a chicken keeper is having their entire flock eradicated in the next few days because of bird flu. It started when they found (I think) a turkey and guinea dead in their flock, followed by several more sudden unexplained deaths. They took one of the birds to the state lab and it tested positive for AI. All their chickens, ducks and whatever other fowl they have, must be euthanized because now they are carriers. It's so sad. Just be careful.

If you’re extremely careful and wear long gloves, protective covering, and different shoes you could try to help them, treat it like a hazmat situation, but it’s a long and difficult commitment and there’s no guarantees you won’t expose your flock to a deadly contagion.

It really sucks, feeling helpless not being able to help an animal in need, but hpai is a terrible reality we now live in, a lot of avian vets aren’t even taking in rescues or poultry because of the current risk.
It really is. And heartbreaking to watch him walk around looking for food and knowing he's sick.😔
