Adolecent rooster almost scalping hen help!

I have a OE rooster who is about 18 weeks old. He is crowing and starting to try to mount hens. He seems to have zeroed in on one particular Australorp gal who is about 21 weeks old. She runs like crazy from him and I've seen him try to mount and then tumble off over her head. Just today when I went out to give some treats, I noticed that the area behind her comb is almost completely bald and as red as her comb. There is no obvious blood. I covered the bald spot with blue kote. Would you do more? Will they "work it out" or is she in danger. The last time he went after her she squatted and stuck her head under some foliage.

I've had chickens get pretty bald backs from roosters holding on, but never experienced this with the head.

Please advise!

If they were mine, I would remove the rooster until all of the hens have matured and his hormones have settled down.

That is good to know about the adolescent rooster being so aggressive to mount will pass.
In the past I've always had been given older roos and never raised my own roo as a youngster.
The older ones never harassed the hens. But this young roo just started crowing a few weeks ago and now chasing after the young hens that are not even laying yet. He terrorizes all of them all morning long and they run from him. Thank goodness they are free range or I'd be in trouble.
I was starting to think I was going to have to get rid of him because he has too many hormones or something.

What i have done for my young roosters is given them a "pillow hen",literally a pillow for them to mount and wear off frustration. They are separate from my girls until they are a little older and not so aggressive with them. Pillow works(just like a unneutered male dog,they become frustrated and aggression may result)aggression is gone,they are happy,i am happy,my hens are happy. They love their pillow,her name is Martha the pillow hen,when i tell them to go see Martha,they run over and get her. Lol

Yup.Martha is washed on a regular basis at night,have to make sure she is back in the morning.

Oh my, I'm still laughing. I too can not get this image out of my head. Sooo funny, but sure worth a try. Just minutes ago, my Speckled Sussex roo has just tried out his vocals too for the very 1st time. Of course Mr. Big Cocky Barred Rock or Dominique?(not sure what he is. He has the longer feathers like a Dominique but was told at purchase at Tractor Supply he was a BR) came running over to see who was crowing. No fighting yet, but I'm sure it is going to happen. Note: They were supposed all be pullets. yeh, right, like that ever happens. lol They will be pets and no one eaten so harmony would be ideal. At least 10 of the 12 newbees are hens. Last purchase at TS it was 50/50....I was not happy.

Oh please tell me more about this pillow....what does it look like? Just a plain bed pillow? A chicken shaped pillow? I think you could market it! If you could show a picture it would be great!

I have two pillows,one is shaped like a hen with a printed fabric,the other is a big red fuzzy heart shaped pillow(my roosters are huge orpingtons,pillow is as big as them)this is called the "love"pillow and is their very favorite. The love pillow gets lots of use. I recently discovered one of my kids had a video of my rooster on his love pillow,showed it to their friends and they all wanted the video claiming it was so funny,i stopped that,otherwise i am sure my rooster and his pillow would end up on you tube under the heading "chicken porn". That's all i need is to be busted for chicken porn. Lol
