Adolescent lavender araucana changing colour?

Larry my 15 week old lavender araucana roo has started growing blonde feathers down his back?! Is this normal?

Well I would think it is normal, roosters tend to be multi-colored.

Thats leakage. If he were a black the leakage would be red. It means there are colours other than just black and lavender in his line. Its undesirable and will take generations to breed out

Why does this occur? His sister Ping doesn't have this. Not met the parents as we bought them and hatching eggs. Will be rehoming Larry anyway as we cant have roos. Hes just started crowing!
