Off the wall questions, after racing do they breed them? or they just "rejects and open for adoptions'?

Do they have AKC and pedigrees on them? Or the breeder or owner keeps the papers after they give up the dog for adoption?

they all are fixed, teeth cleaned, ID taged, ours was ID chipped too, shot are up to date , collar and leash... i think all are pedigreed, ours came with all papers and I even found her track record ( on my own)

Racing greyhounds are pedigreed. You can get their pedigree and/or 5 generation pedigree from the Greyhound Racing Association. People have tried to cross greyhounds with whippets thinking they can get a faster dog.....not permitted so the Racing Industry looks at pedigrees. All racers are tatooed in their ears for ID. Racers are not fixed, rescue groups do that before they let them become adopted. I know in the past some people adopted unaltered racers from the tracks directly, don't know if tracks still do that.
Most rescue groups have dental done when the dog is fixed. Ex-racers are notorious for having 'bad' teeth (crate chewing, lot of tartar due to lack of chew toys etc.) Dogs that are from breeding farms are usually sad cases but deserve loving homes aftr what they have been through.
As far as ownership/papers....I had ownership transferred from each racing owner as soon as I adopted each of my dogs. The rescue group helped with the paperwork. You can also contact the Racing Association and they can assist. My dogs are also microchipped (the tattoo can also be used - after ownership is transferred)

yea agreed... you've had them awhile I take it? Ive had mine 5 days and her breath and teeth werent as bad as I expected... I dont mind the breath at all. I also think she must have been taking pretty good care of, she seems fine. I mean yea shes a little skidish but not really bad at all.
