We put a chicken coop by our pond, and have them locked in. Plan to start letting them out during the day, after they have figured out this is now home. When I get new chickens, I keep them penned for awhile to let them get used to the coop they will be locked up in overnight. Do ducks "catch on" too? Will they learn to coop up at night as well? Easter was 4 weeks ago, so they are probably 5 or 6 weeks old. One is all white & the other is smaller & brown & black. I have chickens, guineas, and have also had peacocks...never ducks. Any & all advice appreciated. I have read for hours & still don't feel like I know much about raising ducks. Thank you in advance for your advice!

Bless you for adopting them.

Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks and The Ultimate Pet Duck Guidebook are great books.

Please ask - any question, or comment, or just to gush about how wonderful they are, we want to hear it!

Okay, I guess, read it.
