Adopted chickens, whats their breed?

Long story short we adopted these two girls from a neighbor who moved out and left them behind. I believe the red one is a 'red star' hen and I don't know what the black one is. What breed do you think they are?

They are! They have beem laying for a couple weeks and are laying big brown eggs and alot of double yolks. Is it normal that that the red's eggs are darker brown than the black's?

Egg color varies a lot between brown egg laying birds so it's nothing too unusual and definitely nothing to worry about.
