Adoption Rant

I'm not sure about the prices the place you are talking about charges, but the rescues I have worked with or adopted from are charging for vet care; you recieve a healthy animal. Cost usually ranges from $100-250(regardless of breed), which I'm ok with b/c I'm getting a fully vetted animal. If this isnt the case then is sounds pretty iffy.

I agree if the dogs are fully vetted a couple hundred dollars is really not a bad deal whether they are pure or mixed.

My wife runs a greyhound rescue we charge a $180 adoption fee. However our dogs are fully vetted before they are adopted it includes spay or neuter, Blood panel, fecal test, teeth cleaning, all shots and vaccines up to date they are also on heart worm preventive. You also get a new leash, collar and muzzle it all adds up to more than what we charge its actually about $250-300 to vet them.

They really shouldn't represent the dogs as pure breeds if they are not though, like someone there are good and bad rescues.

Hm, kind of want to just ask them casually and politely why they present mixed breeds as ACDs...but not sure if there is a way to politely ask something like that. XD Wondering what their reasoning is though. Does anyone know if representing mixed breeds as pure is common in breed specific rescues, and if so, what the reason for that is? I've only ever looked at a few, most were for GSDs, and they did specify that they took in mixes and if dogs were papered or not, etc.
