ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Last night I went to let in a straggler (oops) and noticed that the door was really struggling to open, going very slow, it sounded like the motor was running down. So looks like I need to stop procrastinating and get out there to try and find out what's wrong this weekend.

Me too, Geeky. After functioning fine again (all by itself) for the past week or two, today it only opened half way again.

I have been writing to Rod about this intermittent problem, and he has asked me to run this test:

Oh no... I was really hoping to be a success story, but tonight I wanted to see when the door closed. After waiting until well after dark, I went and had dinner thinking maybe a watched door wouldn't close like a watched pot won't boil, but when I came back after dinner it was still open. I used the button to close it, and it did, but not automatically. There didn't seem to be any trouble... just wouldn't close.

I will see if it opens in the morning.

@#$%! It wasn't open this morning either. It's a good thing I don't absolutely need it, but at the same time I hate that I spent $200+ for something unreliable. Off to find an email address...

Did you change the programming for the late setting. I did that thinking I needed it, but it kept the door open for quite a while after dark. Turns out I didn't need that, so I reset it to normal and it functions great now.

So Moon what did you find out? I hate that you seem to be the QC Dept though and this does not sound like something that I want to spend $200.00 for the privilege of being a beta tester. I am going to wait awhile.

Nope, I haven't changed a thing. I just installed it and let it be.

This thing has worked like a dream since I bought it in August - today is the day I am going out of town for the first time and the d@#$ thing didn't open. When I pushed the button to open it and let the poor chickens out, it barely opened and then stopped. I had to push it open. Has anyone had any success fixing this issue? I am leaving this evening! HELP!
