ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

I've had mine almost 2 months; and I'd go and sit to watch and see if they all got in and they DID!!! And when time change rolled around it closes at different times--as much as 15" difference BUT since they don't wear watches their inner clocks seem to be working. Now I figure if they lag they're gonna have to go in the tree or top of the shed. But I really like this since shed/coop is in back of my lot up abt 10 steps and over a bit, and since I'm in my mid-70's it was a hassle of xtra time & energy. Now when I give them their late afternoon snack, I close and lock bit door and they're on their own to get their furry fannies in!!

The link you provided is just what I was originally looking for. It allows the door to run off a battery and is still fully functional if power goes out. And -- I don't have to worry about the battery going dead. I'm going to head over to WalMart and see if I can pick them up.
Regarding the girls getting trapped outside, it is quite possible that the door closed early because of dark storm clouds in the evening. We have had quite a few of them lately. Nonetheless, my battery is more than a year old and I'm going to pursue the rechargeable option since I have power at the coop.

It's where the auto door reopens one time to let in the ones that didn't make it before door closed.

I just went to Wal-Mart to pick up the battery and charger and they don't have it in my local store. So, I checked on-line and they are out of stock on both the battery and the charger.

@aart is right, the instructions to 'add' this setting are in the information that came with the door, but also available on line on their web site.
There are several extra programmable options that can be set by disconnecting the battery and pushing the button a set # of times to add that particular option.
Sounds complicated, but if you follow the instructions step by step, it works out.

I had trouble with mine not opening early enough and closing when the days get shorter so I bought the outside sensor cord and set my outside light on a timer. (I had to buy a special cord so I could plug in the outside light, it was very inexpensive, well under $5). This has worked for me. The outside light comes on at 6 am and goes off at 8 am. It keeps the door open on those dark days in the am. I have the light set to come back on at 5:00 pm to keep the door open and then go off at 6 pm. The door will then close in about 5 minutes or less of the light going off.

I might also get the light sensor. My door just closed at 4pm. Granted it is rainy/cloudy, and the girls were in, but I'd like to have a bit more wiggle room.
Was it hard to install the sensor?

No, it was real easy. The instructions come with it. So far it's working great.

These will probably work, but they are about twice the cost of the Ray-O-Vac products.
