ADORABLE baby sparrow!

@centrarchid Totally fascinating! I've raised orphaned mammals for release. That can be pretty crazy, but not nearly as rigorous as caring for baby birds. I know I don't have the knowledge to care for wild birds, most people don't. I do enjoy watching our native birds care for their babies. We have an abundance of wrens as well, and given their nesting habits, it's pretty easy to figure out where to point my spotting scope.

Rehabbing is so hard, no matter what type of animal. The work is exhausting and the boundaries, which are so very important, are difficult to navigate. There are the people that firmly believe nature should take its course, and people that think we should try to save anything and everything. I think most folks fall in the middle. Personally, I feel that if human actions got the animal in trouble, then a human should take responsibility. Sometimes people just don't understand the normal behavior of native species, and take babies from perfectly capable parents. I hate caring for babies that likely had no need for intervention. I'm better than nothing, but I can't replace their parents.
