Even if the conductor of the first train SAW him there is absolutely no way to stop a train moving that fast in time! I think he used up a half dozen of his nine lives there. While he was laying there afterward on the track of the first train (if it were me I'd gtfo ASAP!) I bet he was counting his lucky stars or praying to whatever deity he believes in!
