i just recieved four adult chickens last night. ok this morning when i went into the coop and let them into the play yard i seen that one of the hens did lay an egg but she stepped on it and broke it. should i be worried? did she do that so i couldnt get it or was it an accident?

total accident
Heavy breeds are known for that but you need to give them all crushed oyster shell (free choice). The egg shouldn't have broken if it was thick like it should. Easily broken eggs is a really good sign of low calcium in their diet.

I imagine that they should be on layer feed, if you are not providing calcium. Layer feed has calcium in it.
