Found a stray Leghorn...

A Leghorn (I think) has been around the Highschool for about a week now, so they caught it and called me because they know I have chickens and will happily take her. I have a flock of 7 hens, all very docile (breeds below). I have integrated adult hens into my flock before, but never a stray. I have no idea how old she is or if she is laying eggs yet, but I assume she is an adult. I haven't seen her yet, as they are bringing her to me, but I will share pictures ASAP. I assume I should keep her alone for a few days incase she is carrying any sicknesses that could hurt the flock? Any advise is appreciated! I will show the pen I have set up for her once it is finished.


Breeds that I have: Brahma, Orpington (2x), Olive Egger, ISA Brown (very old), Wyandotte

I've flagged your post for a moderator to handle. They may delete it, or they may just lock it.

If you ever want to do this again for your own thread, here's what you do:
- Look at the bottom left of your post, and you'll see a Report button
- click the button
- a text box will pop up, and you can type in your request in there (add an explanation if it's not obvious.) Examples: duplicate post / answered elsewhere / no longer relevant (as in your case, where someone else took the hen) - and so forth.
