Adult duck keeps flipping to back

Oh one more thing that’s new tonight is that she isn’t opening her bill very much. She is drinking and I put her grain in her water to make it soft for her. She did eat a few meal worms. When she quacks though, she isn’t opening her mouth hardly at all.

@CallDuckMama is she able to hold her head up in normal position? Could she have gotten into anything toxic? Moldly feed, stagnant water a plant?

Her head seems to want to stay turned to the left. She lets me turn her head with no indication of pain or discomfort. I change their pools every couple days…no new plants in the yard. No moldy feed. She can hop/run up hill better than on flat ground. Her right leg is strongest. She just starts trying to move forward and her butt comes straight up over head and she flips over. Her wings are looking bad and misshapen. I’m at a loss. I don’t what to do that will make a difference. I’m going to continue all of the suggestions you all have given me. I’m also trying to get in with an avian vet…hard to do where I’m from.

Also what do you think about the beak not wanting to open when she quacks?

I just don’t know, I’d say if you can get a vet to look at her that would be best. We can keep trying different things and still not help her.

Hi. So Dragonfly seems to have gained some mobility back in her legs and can move forward kind of quickly as long as she keeps her balance…but that isn’t often. I basically follow her around the yard flipping her back over. Her wings, esp the right, is really droopy and both wings seem to trip her up. I’m going to try to figure 8 wrap her wings this evening once she dries off. I read where that can help with droopy wings. She is still not opening her beak normally to quack. She quacks loud, but not with an open beak. Apparently she’s getting enough water and food. Her neck still pulls to the left which also messes with her balance. I can’t find a vet in my area that will see her any time soon…we’re talking 4-6 weeks out.

My 5 month old female, call duck keeps rolling onto her back and cannot roll back over. I started to notice one of the males picking on her so I separated her from the flock. She’s not eating very much of anything. She drinks some. I thought she was doing better yesterday, but I get home from work today and she’s flipped over and not moving. She just looks around. Her legs seem splayed out and weak when she is upright. I had her swim some yesterday and she did enjoy it and she did move her feet….one foot more than the other. She will also raise her backside way up in the air until she rolls forward. Any ideas? I’m giving her duck food that includes the recommended niacin and have been giving her one of the vitamin enhancers in her water.

Sounds like her equilibrium is off. Especially since she isn't eating and doesn't want to open her mouth. It could be her ears. Can you take her to a vet for a look? If not, I'd do a quick snap test from behind her, see if she looks toward the snaps. It wouldn't hurt to offer her foods with a lot of vitamin C. Maybe add some lemon juice to her water?

If she was mine, I'd put just a tiny bit of Vicks rub on her bill. Seems silly, but if it is her ears, it could help.

Are you giving her any supplements like Poultry Cell?

I’ve been giving the vitamin b complex, hydro hen, and now the Epsom salts flush recipe in case it’s something toxic. I saw that recipe in one of your other posts to someone.
