! I was wondering what I should feed my eight week old quail? I’m raising them for eggs. I supplement them with chicken scratch and leftover tabe scraps/greens. Right now, I’m feeding them manna pro game bird/show bird starter (24%). I was wondering for any suggestions on feed anywhere in the 20ish% protein. I’m buying feed off amazon for now, but any online store with minimal shipping costs is great! Thanks.

Does your local feed store carry game bird crumble? There are several brands. I usually feed my adults either Bar Ale game bird crumble or Hunt & Behren's game bird crumble. They are both local to me, but Bar Ale is available in a lot of places.

If your feed store doesn't carry any game bird crumble, they might be willing to order it for you. Mine has ordered Purina Startena for my chicks several times now.

I really liked the Manna Pro gamebird feed, but I found several bags infested with grain mites, even straight out of a different store. It seemed to impact my birds' feather quality. I haven't settled on a new favorite brand yet.

Hudson feed gamebird pellets are wonderful and can be ordered from chewy. They are about $33 for 50 lbs.

I use Purina Flock Raiser Crumbles. It's a 20% protein. $21/50lbs. was 19, but things are going up. Need to supplement calcium. I use egg shells and crushed oyster shell, and put it on the side so they take what they want.
