Advanced Stage of Bumblefoot

Soak his feet in lukewarm water between 100 degres f and 101 degres f. Gradually bringing the tissues to temprature. Yes, but 40 f is still cold. Also check the roosts. How wide are they? Humidity levels are also a big factor in frostbite.

Okay, I will soak again tomorrow. I soaked his feet 3 times tonight. He did not have access to a roost at the time.

The other thing I find to be really weird is the two drakes we had under with him didn't show any signs of having foot problems.

It can affect all your poultry or just a few. He is especially prone to it as there dosen't seem to be any other chickens with him to keep warm. In cold weather like this he should be able to have at least another chicken to keep warm. Though it is an exeption quaranting.

He was attacking our children while free ranging, so we kept him in the area of our coop that can be locked up with the two drakes we were rehoming. As soon as we got a fence up for them to be in, he was with everyone else.

I'll be honest with you and you might not like what I have to say. I would cull him. If he is attacking your children, he is not a good roo anyways. Treating an aggressive rooster, just to have him healed enough to attack your children again, seems counter productive to me. Save your self stress and cull him. Sorry to be blunt
