Hi Deanna, and welcome to BYC! Brahmas are usually really mellow birds, and while not the most prolific layers they do pretty well. I think you'll enjoy having them.

I have one buff brahma and she is a sweetheart. She doesn't lay as reliably as my two other sex link hens (Novogens), but you'll get enough eggs from them all over the course of the year. She goes broody so she tends not to lay as often.
