Adventures in Incubating Shipped Eggs

Pics
I went into lockdown with 12 eggs, I did lay them on their side for hatching. These eggs are even more important now. I had a fox attack yesterday and killed 3 of my hens and 4 grow out chicks. :hit
Oh, how heartbreaking! I am so sorry. That is quite traumatic and dreadful.

I lost my frizzle girl to an oppossum, and - since I do not want to harm the predators, just protect my flock - I put up solar 'fox lights,' which are frequently used in the UK. They appear to be keeping the raccoons and possums away.

((hugs)) and good wishes for your very important hatch

Oh man. Sounds like they had a rough ride. How were the aircells upon arrival? How far away did they come from. Sorry for the bad luch. Are you sure they just aren't late?
I’m in Ohio and they came from Florida and Virginia. Most of the ACs were ok. I had 1 rolling. Not late, dead. They were due 1-2 weeks ago. I cracked em all open.

How awful. Really hoping you have some little chicks soon to help ease the pain.

:hugs

How are my air cells looking? I go into lockdown tomorrow!

Happy active silkies bouncing around in there.
