Day 3. 9 of the 26 eggs came from a different breeder. All aircells are intact. I don't blame breeder. It a PO issue. Anyways one if the 17 is developing a bright red vein, which I believe is the start of a blood ring. . To be expected, but disappointing. I just candled a few to check air cells when I turned the eggs. All 17 air cells still are lose and look big. They are upright and will most likely remain that way. The other eggs are fit in anywhere they can go mostly on their sides. 1st cull won't occur for another 3-4 days, and that should free up room in my incubator. I didn't expect so many eggs

What's happening this morning?

I had 2 hatched and doing well when I left at 1100, for family picnic. I think it’s a conspiracy with my husband, last 2 hatches he has made plans on hatch day. Good thing though it keeps my hands out incubator. But we drove separate so I feel a headache coming on in a couple hours.

Ughhh!!! My incubator was accidentally unplugged for about 2 hours. Dropped to 82°.

I think too cool is much less dangerous than too hot. Momma hens leave the nest for awhile and it does no harm. Just get them warmed up as quick as you can and they should hopefully be ok

Hang in there! My understanding is that more developed eggs are actually less sensitive to a little cooling. And it was only a couple hours right? Very upsetting to be sure, but it could have been much worse. Try not to beat yourself up about it

Yes, this is my understanding as well. An incubator that is chronically too cool is more harmful, but cooling off for a couple hours shouldn't be too bad. You might lose a couple chicks that were "iffy" anyway... developing slow or having problems or whatever, but overall everything should be okay.

Baby goose has splayed legs (it keeps kicking the bedding away and ends up on the bottom of the kennel....so I have to find something grippy that I can attach to it, then put the bedding on it)

So, it's got to deal with a brace for a bit. Baby goose is very upset.
