We brought home 7 beautiful black and white Muscovy on Saturday to add to my beloved duck children. At first there was some more hissing than usual towards each other but we figured it was due to stress. Surprisingly they mingled great with my birds. I like to get new ducks earlier in the day so I have time to give them together and watch. I fed them all and there was no fighting..the new one guys then could not not take their eyes off me, which I just loved. Then they slowly and gracefully moved over to our pigs, as is they were old friends. We have pot belly pigs pigs who are harmless to ducks so I was not worried. The Muscovies even greeted the goats and seemed to fit right in. They had no problems going into the barn all by themselves just to check it out. I was quite happy. I walked away for a bit and then it happened....something above me...fast...swooping...gliding..delicate all at once. It was my little hen Muscovy named Sammi. Oh yeah, out of 7 only 2 are hens, but who’s counting..lol. Anyways. It was quite a sight to see her fly through the sky as if she knew exactly where to go. I felt so proud. You see, my other Muscovies aren’t go-getters..lol. I have one who can ly, Miss Muscovy, but she only does it to get. Out of the pen if I’m too late in the morning. The others just are slow pokes, and I love them for that. My gentle giants...I might give them extra grapes. Well, by day two, the ducks are now all old pals, like they went to high school together. :)

Oh my gosh we would have so much fun if we ever got together..my husband always asks..why do you take so many? Lol. Well, here’s, another of the new Muscovies relaxed by the pond today. :) View attachment 1964218
Oh, and just for fun, here’s one of our pot belly pig, Jumbo, heading back from our driveway...which is a loong way from the barn. I like to let them free range a bit every day, they’re slow-movers. Lol
