Having been doing a lot of research on getting a goose more for protection/ guardian of small free roaming flock. I have read a lot of threads on here so far but I would like info and advice regarding African Geese.
1. Is their temperament toward flock and people good if raised with flock and gets alot of human attention?
2. I really would only like to manage one, is that ok?
3. Do they stick around the ground and ok with a kiddie pool?
4. Do they provide good protection? More than a rooster and do they get along with roosters?
Any advice/ opinions welcome- thanks!

I have super african geese.
1. Mine are very well mannered
2. I think all geese really need another of their kind. But really 2 is no more work than 1.
3. Do they stick around the ground and ok with a kiddie pool? Depends. Yes to the kiddie pool. We have 5 acreas and I've had to pen mine since they decided to take a walk down our busy road. They will have their favorite places to hang out and it may be your sidewalk, driveway etc.
4. No. They talk (alarm) at everything. And even a full grown goose is no match for a fox or raccoon. A predator will still injure them badly. I thought they would be predator protection but have lost 2 geese and personally witnessed another being drug around the yard by the the wing by a large raccoon.
