Advice for hatching/selling for Easter Hatch

Even with the minimum 6 as per NYS law? Should I wait & only have them available the Mon or Tue after Easter so they don’t end up in baskets?
I'd wait until Monday to start selling. Advertising before hand would probably be okay, so long as they don't go to a new home beforehand.

It might be paranoid, I just know I personally won't ever sell at that time.

For the hatching eggs, I sell on Craigslist Spring-Summer, and what I do is list out all breeds that could possibly be the parents of the eggs, post as many pictures as it allows (both the birds and eggs), and I price the eggs individually so customers can decide how many they want. Last year we sold them for $1 per hatching egg and people were buying anywhere from 4-12 usually. It wasn’t really to make a profit, but instead was mostly for fun and to cut down on eggs. This year, however, I have a decent selection, so I will be posting multiple ads of different breeds.

Makes sense. I will push back availability until after the holiday. Thank you.

Thanks! Sounds like that is do-able. 😊

Personally I would only hatch on Easter for myself. We are not selling our Easrer chicks just adding to the flock.
I actually found homesteaders with chickens who are looking for new blood and will take any chicks I hatch. Met with them, they know what they are doing. So I get to enjoy hatching and no worries about the babies.

I heard mixed breeds dont sell aswell as pure breds but no idea if thats true I plan on hatching for EHA and gonna be selling them aswell what someone else does with them after easter is their problem worst comes to it they resell them to someone else imma be selling ducklings aswell. Imma be charging $5 each for mine and $6 for ducklings
