I hatched 2 pekin ducks (hatched 2 days ago) they were in an incubator so they are inside now. But Daisy (momma) has been sitting on 2 of her eggs for the past 4 days. Each egg she lays, she puts them outside of her nest. Do I wait until those babies hatch then bring the others out so they can all be together? I want her to accept them all and are hoping the Drake (Donald) is not mean to them. I had to separate my khaki ducks and keep them with the chickens because he tends to bully and drag them around.

Sure are cute. Congrats!! Think a minute there is going to be a big difference in size of the 2 hatched 2 days ago and the ones hatching 28 days from now, I doubt mama Pekin will accept either if she isn't even broody. If you hatch her eggs she is laying now you'll have to slowly integrate them into your flock and they will have to be at least the same size as your adults or mama and daddy drake could try and kill them. They will not see them as their off spring. same goes for the 2 your brooding, they will not accept them as their own now or in the future you'll have to introduce them same as the eggs you may hatch. Once ducklings get their legs, I take mine out on nice warm days form short field trips, they are walked around the other flock members but none are allowed to hurt them. But this gives resident flock members time to get use to ducklings and ducklings time to grow and get strong. around time all feathers are in then they can be outside but in separate areas when adults still aren't able to get to them once they have lived outside for about 4-7 days I let everyone be together with me right there tossing out treats. Once they can eat nicely together then the ducklings who will be feathered in and of good size can be wit the adults. It takes time but sure makes it alot easier in the long run.

Mom is broody. She has been sitting on eggs outside for a few days now. I will let her hatch them and take your advice and introduce the other 2 as they are older. It is a bit cold and rainy now in New Jersey but next week I will bring them outside and keep them separate so they can see each other until they are able to be outside permanently
