Morning everyone! I have 5 Golden Comet sex-link chickens about 5 months old. The largest, most mature-looking one, has always been at the top of the pecking order, but lately she has gotten really aggressive with the others, to the point where if they try to get out of the coop or head toward the food or water she attacks them. She also does that horrible hen "crowing" all the time, so I guess she thinks she's a rooster? She doesn't have spurs and looks like a typical female Golden Comet, so I have to rule out the idea that she is actually a "he." I plan on separating her into a dog crate, but I need advice on what else to do and how long to keep her separate, etc.
Thanks!

Put her in Time Out for at least several days. Not sure what a cockerel would look like, but they are sex links so you would think it would be obvious. Some hens will take on a Rooster role if there is no rooster around.

Anytime I have an issue chicken, they get Peepers put on. Puts an instant stop to bad behavior, aggressive, plucking, bully, etc.

I put peepers on two of my meanies and they really do the job! They should be called peacemakers! (Peepers came after time out and isolation didn't work. Oh, and after hot pick and rooster booster were tried.)
