Advice needed ASAP...unintended (?) animal cruelty

Use the "I know a guy, and He said..." ploy

Tell him you mentioned to someone about the failed bunny situation and "he" said you might try,
(1) build a "run" for them to have access outside in the grass and still be safe.
(2) They like to snuggle up in a nest of straw and ripped up newspaper
(3) they like fruits and veggies in addition to the regulat food


on and on.

It may work because it's not YOU telling him he's a moron....It's someone else saying "this may help"

I would offer my help to the guy and see if maybe being able to do it together will give him the cause to take better care of the rabbits. Sometimes people will do much more if there is someone else is involved to share the experience.

Tell if that to repay his many kindnesses you got him a book on raising rabbits and then point out that when reading it you discovered why his litters may be dying.
