I made in hurry a coop for my Cemani pullets. I have problem with them, because they do not behave well. Cemanis are 4 month old and we got new pullets 7 weeks ago. New ones are half bigger but still they afraid. Cemanis do not let them eat or drink. My Cemanis are Hitchcocks birds, this is true!
I searched from all sites, I could not find information about little coop ventilation in cold areas.
I hope I can keep Cemanis in this coop 2 months. They have their own run. In winter they will go back to others.
In october may already be cold -5 C ( its 23 F ) in my area. In summer there is no problem to vent this coop- I can open a bit nestbox door or main entrance. But not in fall. They are still pullets, not chickens.
At the moment, back wall upper panel is still open, because we but electricity. Watch the pictures.
Now, please don´t laugh! All the wood game from my farm, there is no chemicals or woodprotections inside the coop. Our construction ways are probably diffrent like in other continents. I thougth in my little women head, that I drill little holes in there for ventilation. Its probably not a good idea. Any tips, suggestions?

I honestly did not know what Cemani was and had to google it.
The internet says there temperment is mild and frendly so i expect yhat you are dealing with is simple intregation of different age chickens.
Most experts will tell you to keep the birds in sight if each other, not compleatly separated. Even then on the days after you mix them there will be some adjusting of the pecking order as they get it sorted out who is at the top.
I would only intifeer with that if blood is drawn.
You did a great job on your little pen. I think it might be small for 4 birds, but if they are only in it at night and ranging during the day it should work fine.
Also that little pen will be perfect when you need a separate pen for a broody hen to hatch eggs.
Good job!

Thanks! And thanks for the link, I got an idea how to do this ventilation. I have a set of manual ventilation, but this is too big for this little coop. There is no smaller in our market. This (picture) going to spring into new big coop.
There is so little information about Cemanis. I ordered this Cemani eggs from Germany. After that I heard many peaople, Cemanis are very hard to breed, they dont fix with other flock. They are not tolerant birds and roosters attacking the owner very hard. Thank god , I have only pullets right now. Several breeders have stopped to breed them, because of Cemani behavior.
This coop is not small, its 2.85 ft X 4.59 ft without nestbox. Coop is right next to others, wire-netting is same. Sorry, i have to use translate sometimes and this wire-netting is not right word. I learned at school brittish english like rest of europe. (I think so)
I am here, because i have to practice my english.

Your english is good enough for us to understand pretty well.
:D

The wire netting I see in your first picture is also called poultry netting or chicken wire here in the USA.
It is good that they can see each other.

One thing many here do is put a divider in the coop so every bird is under the same roof. Not always possible if the main coop is small.

Some birds never get along. I have 2 coops because of mean birds.
