I made in hurry a coop for my Cemani pullets. I have problem with them, because they do not behave well. Cemanis are 4 month old and we got new pullets 7 weeks ago. New ones are half bigger but still they afraid. Cemanis do not let them eat or drink. My Cemanis are Hitchcocks birds, this is true!
I searched from all sites, I could not find information about little coop ventilation in cold areas.
I hope I can keep Cemanis in this coop 2 months. They have their own run. In winter they will go back to others.
In october may already be cold -5 C ( its 23 F ) in my area. In summer there is no problem to vent this coop- I can open a bit nestbox door or main entrance. But not in fall. They are still pullets, not chickens.
At the moment, back wall upper panel is still open, because we but electricity. Watch the pictures.
Now, please don´t laugh! All the wood game from my farm, there is no chemicals or woodprotections inside the coop. Our construction ways are probably diffrent like in other continents. I thougth in my little women head, that I drill little holes in there for ventilation. Its probably not a good idea. Any tips, suggestions?
